We are looking for a freelance seamstress to join us at the Church of Sanctus studio in Woolwich Arsenal on a permanent basis. The work to be completed is our weekly customer orders that are placed on our website, as we manufacture all garments to order and do not outsource production.

The candidate can either work in our studio, or do pick ups/drop offs if they have their own machines. Usually the position would be between 1-2 days a week depending on how busy we are, although during the run up to Christmas the load will be much bigger so up to 3-4 days a week – possibly more. All pieces are cut out ready to be put together by our garment cutter for you. Mostly it is faux fur trimmed outerwear, woven jackets, jersey tops and jersey dresses.

We pay by the garment –  although this is negotiable. We will send our price lists and can discuss this with you after you apply.

We’re a small but dedicated, friendly team who work hard and love what we do. Right now it’s Lucinda (designer) who is in everyday overseeing the company, while our garment cutter (Amy) comes in once a week to complete all the cutting out, ready to be put together by our machinist. Our seamstress of 2.5 years is sadly leaving us, so we’re looking for someone to take her place and grow with the team and company, and enjoy being here!

Our ideal candidate:

• Available immediately
• Comfortable sewing faux fur, jerseys and faux leather
• Comfortable using a coverstitch machine
• Is able to produce consistent, quality work
• Is happy to be paid by the garment
• Has some experience in manufacturing
